Squad Pod

There's a new podcast to go along with this newsletter (that I promise will get off the ground).

Hey, you lot.

I started a podcast to go along with this soon-to-be-humming newsletter. The podcast right now is long-form interviews with people from all over my football/soccer universe.

The knowns, the unknowns. Fanatics, creatives, athletes, experts, and executives. Everyone and anyone. There will be plenty of story-telling, maybe some debates and analysis, and hopefully lots of fun.

To begin the series, Katelyn Best hopped on the pod to talk about her soccer journey. From discovering soccer spaces in Portland in the 2010s, to eventually becoming the Editorial Content Manager at Angel City FC in the NWSL. The conversation touches on the feeling of "importance" that comes from witnessing players like Tobin Heath playing live.

In the second episode, the industrious Kayla Thompson had a chat about how she became the co-founder of the first-ever USL-W club in Texas, ATX Woso. In addition to growing a club from the ground up in her hometown, Thompson is also currently the starting goalkeeper for Liga MX Femenil team Toluca and leading a research consultancy group called HT Sports.

You can find all the links to listen to the podcast right here: https://pod.link/1683324485

Subscribe to the podcast to get the latest episodes when they’re released. Right now I’m looking at having at least one new episode out every fortnight.

Please rate, review, and share with your friends too.

Cheers,

Theo

P.S. Here are some other newsletters I am enjoying right now. Get on it.
